Enjoy a roundtrip hike featuring lush mountain flora and quiet lakes
Melbyfjellet

This roundtrip hike to Melbyfjellet via Knausehøgdi and Sørre Knausen Mountains awards you stunning views of Jotunheimen and Langsua National Parks. The hike features lush mountain flora, several viewpoints and Tutjernet Lake where, if weather permitting, it’s nice to take a swim.

Many of the trails around Beitostølen result from the tracks made by livestock going to and fro the old summer mountain farms (“støl” is a term for a mountain farm used in summer). The most demanding part of the hike is the ascent from Tutjernet Lake to the top of Melbyfjellet, otherwise, the trail leads you through relatively smooth mountain terrain.
