Meet the hosts at Hindsæter

It's a family affair

Hindsæter Hotel has developed from a small mountain farm, to a modern hotel. In the beginning, the small mountain farms in the area hosted all the hikers and explorers, but eventually there were too many people arriving at the farms during summer time for the farmers to accommodate in a small farm house. The farmer Otto Østrem decided to build a hotel, and the historic hotel was built in 1898. The danish lady, Mari Jensen, was their first guest signing the guestbook on the 4th July 1898. During the first few years, there were many poets and painters staying at Hindsæter, searching for inspiration from the nature in Sjodalen.

Karola Wenzel and André Sundero are the current hosts at Hindsæter Hotel. They bought Hindsæter in 2004, and have run the place since. Karola and André have a passion for good food and drinks, the mountains and its history.
