Rondane Høyfjellshotell is a traditional mountain hotel located right on the border of Rondane National Park, the oldest national park in Norway. When you are staying at the hotel, you will have a whole landscape of adventures available at the doorstep. This family-friendly and comfortable mountain hotel is a great basecamp for skiing and snowshoeing, with trails and landscapes suitable for mountain adventurers of all kinds and ages.

A popular mountain getaway

Since 1939

Rondane Fjellstue was established March 1st 1939 by Hans and Bergljot Nygaard. They hit a nerve, and the lodge ran well from the very beginning. It was a popular hotel for guests from Oslo, and their family ran the hotel until the nineties. 

In May 2014 the current owners bought the hotel, and the hotel is run by Ole P. Christensen. Before he came to Rondane, he used to run hotels in Spain, Egypt, France and Turkey.

Doorstep adventures

Rondane Høyfjellshotell offers a variety of adventures from its doorstep. Hikes at various difficulty level and length during both summer and winter time. Skis and snowshoes are available for rent at low rates for for guests staying at the hotel.

Rondane Høyfjellshotell offer accommodation ranging from small single to double rooms, junior suites and family rooms in addition to cabins and apartments. The hotel has many amenities such as a restaurant, bar, kiosk with coffee service, swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, fitness room and a game room, as well as well-equipped meeting and conference rooms and banquet facilities. Altogether they have a total of 210 beds.

Traveling to Rondane Hotel
By car

From Trondheim or Oslo, follow E6 to Otta. By car from E6 or Otta: 500 m south of the crossing to Otta center, the Rondanevegen local road exits to Rondane/Mysusæter. Follow Rondanevegen up in the mountains, and keep straight ahead in Rapham crossing. Follow the road for another 7 km, until you see the hotel sign on your right hand.

Public transport

Train from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, or Airport shuttle bus from Trondheim Airport Værnes to Trondheim and train to Otta station. You can order shuttle minibus to the hotel. The hotel minibus has capacity for up to eight people.
