Various outdoor activities
From lush valleys to high mountains

The eye-catching region of Valdres extends from the lush and water rich valleys in the south to the Jotunheimen mountain range in the north. The region is known for its various outdoor activities throughout the year, such as hiking, cycling and fishing in the summer, and cross-country and downhill skiing in the winter. Valdres is centrally located in southern Norway, and it is easy to get here by car and public transport.

Because of the stable climate in the region, you are normally guaranteed snow from November until May. More than 1,500 kilometres of prepared tracks await the cross-country enthusiast. Those who are more interested in the thrill of downhill skiing can challenge themselves in the alpine centres or terrain parks.
