Filefjellstuene is located 900 m.a.s.l, by the old "King's Road" connecting East and West. It is easily accessible from the E16 between Oslo and Bergen. There are many hiking and biking opportunities to be found in Jotunheimen during the summer and you can also go to the Sognefjord. Filefjellstuene is centrally located, providing easy ski-in ski-out access from both the east and west sides of the ski center and the cross country slopes.

From the 1960s

From a farm to a lodge

Just like many other lodges and hotels in the Norwegian mountains, Filefjellstuene's history began with a small mountain pasture, where the family Hermundstad started building a modern tourist business in the beginning of the 1960's. Today, the lodge is owned and operated by Tyin Filefjell AS, which also operates the ski lifts and several other services for travelers to this alpine mountain area at the doorstep of Jotunheimen National Park.
