Kamben Høyfjellshotel is a traditional mountain hotel beautifully located on the Golsfjellet plateau between the valleys Valdres and Hallingdal. When you are staying at the hotel, you have plenty of adventures available at your doorstep. This family-friendly and comfortable hotel, which also offers cabins for hire, is the ideal basecamp for hiking and biking in the mountains.
The hotel is well renowned for excellent food and their chef and owner, Martin, prepares an excellent four-course-dinner every night.

Kamben was originally a summer farm, built in 1836. In 1920, E. Eidsgaard rebuilt the summer farm to a hotel. In 1936, Dorthea and Martin Brekke, bought the hotel and it has stayed in the family ever since. Today it is their grandson, Martin Glimme, that welcome the visitors to Kamben. Martin puts his heart into keeping the warm, cosy atmosphere and serving good, home-cooked meals to all of his guests. Martin is also the chef at the hotel, and he always prepares the four-course-dinner at the hotel every night.
Kamben has 40 rooms with all facilities, and 8 cabins.

Kamben is located on the Golsfjellet plateau, between the valleys Valdres and Hallingdal, about 190 km from Oslo and 480 km from Trondheim. From Oslo you follow E16 road towards Fagernes. At the intersection on E16 by Leira, drive right (from the north) or left (from the south) and follow the signs to Gol and then to Kamben. If you arrive from Hallingdal, follow the signs to Fagernes, then Golsfjellet and then Kamben.
Multiple bus departures with the Valdresekspressen bus line from Oslo Bus Terminal and OSL Airport to Fagernes available daily (3 hours). Check timetables and book tickets on: www.nor-way.no. Gol is located on the scenic Bergen Line railway from Oslo, and Kamben offers affordable local transfers from the train station at Gol t/r the hotel (book in advance).
